The City of Kissimmee is currently offering a one-time $3,000 sign-on bonus for this position.
The City of Kissimmee is a fast-growing suburb of Orlando, Florida with a population of 81,000. This position is based in Historic Downtown Kissimmee, located on the banks of Lake Tohopekaliga, Lake Toho for short. Downtown Kissimmee is walkable, with a transportation hub that services the regional bus and commuter rail systems. Downtown is also home to many restaurants, entertainment, beautiful Lakefront Park and a range of housing options.
The City is looking for a talented planner to join our fast paced development review team. Candidates must have experience reviewing site plans, site construction plans, conditional use permits, preliminary and final plats, and other planning applications. Other necessary skills include preparation of reports; research and analysis of various planning issues; customer service; some supervision of other staff; and presentation skills.
Position requires a Bachelor's degree in urban and regional planning or related field supplemented by 5 to 7 years of professional planning, education or equivalent experience. Master's degree and AICP certification are encouraged. Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver's License. Willing to under fill position and salary if qualifications cannot be met.
