Solar Energy

The city's comprehensive plan recommends solar design for new homes (Housing p. 103, 105) and recommends adoption of solar access and solar energy system ordinances (Land Use and Zoning p. 149).

Wind Energy

The city’s comprehensive plan sets goals and objectives to achieve a 100% renewable energy supply, which promotes large- and small-scale wind energy development. It highlights policies to implement to support renewable energy, including wind and solar ordinances, net metering and interconnection agreements (p.79). The National Renewable Energy Laboratory crafted a supportive wind ordinance and conducted a small-scale renewable feasibility study.
