The county's zoning code addresses solar energy systems in its section on accessory uses (§155-10.10.G). The code provides standards for building-mounted and ground-mounted solar energy systems that address setbacks, height, and location, and notes that system owners are responsible for negotiating any solar access protections with neighbors.

Food Systems | Urban Livestock

The county's zoning code addresses the keeping of horses, farm animals, and micro-livestock as an accessory use (§155-10.10.B.2). In the A-2 and Estate districts, 1 "animal unit" is permitted per acre. In R-1 and R-2 districts, a special use permit is required for horses and farm animals, but chicken-keeping is allowed by right on lots of at least 12,500 SF. In R-2A, R-3, and R-4 districts, chicken-keeping is allowed by right on lots of at least 12,500 SF, and the keeping of rabbits, pygmy goats, pigs, and bees may be approved as a special use; a 25' setback from existing dwellings on adjacent properties is required for structures housing farm animals or microlivestock.
