The Future of Privatization in Chicago
CM | 1.25
Date: Tuesday, April 16
Activity Code: S628
Room: Columbus Hall E/F
Track: Local Host Committee Track
As national infrastructure needs soar and federal and state funding sources dry up, the private sector must be engaged to fill the funding gap. This session will analyze Chicago’s history with public-private partnerships (P3s) and explore the political and public risk of those deals. As more communities consider using P3s to fund infrastructure projects, learn from Chicago’s work in that area and gain a greater understanding of potential pitfalls that could damage P3 deals in your community.
