San Marco Tour

Wednesday, September 03, 2014, 2:00pmParticipants will visit San Marco observing various infill projects and building renovations in a neighborhood which turned down the opportunity for historic designation. The San Marco neighborhood is located across the St. Johns River south Downtown Jacksonville and continues to undergo significant infill redevelopment. The mobile workshop will include a guided walking tour of the neighborhood with discussion of infrastructure improvements, challenges, success stories, past planning and current planning efforts. The tour will include stops at key points in the neighborhood including the San Marco Square, South Jacksonville City Hall, Preservation Hall and Fletcher Park. Bottled water will be provided. Casual attire including comfortable shoes, hat or visor, sunglasses, and sunscreen is recommended.

APA will be hosting two ‘meet-ups’. The first meet-up will take place on Saturday, April 26th from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm in conjunction with the Exhibit Meet and Greet Reception. Mentors and mentees will receive one drink ticket. The second meet-up will take place on Sunday, April 27th from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. Both meet-ups will take place at the Emerging Professionals Connection booth in the Exhibit Hall, a brand new space for our emerging professionals to network, grow and learn. Space is limited and matches will be assigned on a first come/first served basis.
