MORE SESSION DETAILS

In a city where every elected supervisor identifies as a Democrat, passing legislation should be simple, right? The reality is that for a city shrouded in shades of blue, there are passionate differences of opinion on which issues to focus on and how to solve them. Learn how several players involved in San Francisco planning policy approach some of the city’s biggest regulatory issues, and the varied strategies they have for tackling matters such as affordable housing, regulating new industries, preserving neighborhood character, and more. Hear from planners in the Legislative Affairs Division of the Planning Department, the Deputy Director of Development for the Mayor’s Office, and a legislative aide from the Board of Supervisor’s Office.
