Planners, historians, and consultants will guide hikers through the colorful streets around and including Market Street, the central spine that runs through the city. See how targeted density can help alleviate the city’s housing crisis, how planners use streetscape improvements to strive to better meet the needs of this truly multimodal area, and how new development and changes to the city’s transportation infrastructure interact with the significant historic resources of the area. Along the way, discover some hidden gems (including retail!) and end the urban hike with happy hour.
