City-Wide Strategic Plan Phase II

City of Roswell

Roswell, GA

The City of Roswell GA (pop. ~100,000), a largely residential community located 20 miles north of Atlanta GA, desires to complete a city-wide strategic plan. The plan will memorialize the vision, values, goals and objectives of the city for the next 5 years.

The plan is broken up into two distinct phases: Engagement Phase and Planning Phase. The City is currently executing the Engagement Phase with the assistance of Planning Next Inc. Thus, the City is soliciting proposals at this time for the Planning Phase with the intent of contracting with a select firm to receive the information collected through the Engagement Phase and in turn seamlessly facilitate the planning process, memorializing the identified vision, values, goals and objectives into a planning document, and, subsequently, assisting the City with adoption of the plan.

The goal of the Planning Phase is to receive the information derived from the summer-long Engagement Phase of the overall planning effort in order to develop a benchmark strategic plan. The city desires to receive proposals from firms who can assemble the experts in the following industries: city planning, design, small/large group meeting facilitation, communications and marketing in order to develop and implement that benchmark plan. Instead of enumerating objectives, the city prefers to have the responding firms tell us how we get to our goal of developing and implementing a benchmark strategic planning process and memorializing our collective vision, values, goals and objectives in a high-quality adoptable planning document. Thus, the city desires to receive proposals from firms who are able to respond with a consolidated group of experts who can develop and propose the best methodology/approach for the plan.

The city desires to have the Planning Phase of the contract awarded and selected firm on standby ready to receive the results of the Engagement Phase and immediately/seamlessly begin working with the city staff on the Planning Phase.
