Social Equity

This guide supports California communities in implementing the Planning for Healthy Communities Act, which requires that cities and counties include an environmental justice (EJ) element in comprehensive plans. It includes a description of the EJ planning process, shown in Figure 2-1, as well as tools for identifying target populations and engagement strategies. It also shares five case studies, summarized in Table 6-1, and a list of public and private funding sources.
