Social Equity

This guide describes the national policy context for environmental justice (EJ), proposes an EJ indicators framework, and outlines a methodology for EJ assessment. Exhibit 3-1 visualizes the four-phase methodology for assessing allegations of environmental injustice and subsequent tables share possible data sources for various indicators. Appendix C shares a fictional case to demonstrate how to approach a case of environmental injustice using the proposed methodology.
