Inside Look: Grand Opening of KC Streetcar

For the first time in more than 50 years, streetcars are once again running along the streets of Kansas City, Missouri. The new line — running from Union Station along Main Street through the heart of downtown to River Market — opened on Friday.

To mark the occasion, APA Missouri member Joe Blankenship took over APA’s Instagram account as he reported live from KCMO. Here’s a look at highlights from opening weekend:

 

 

 

 

 

Maggie Priesmeyer, Education Program Coordinator for BikeWalkKC – a local Kansas City advocacy group – is enjoying 3rd Street in the River Market neighborhood – a complete street that was designed in conjunction with the streetcar.
