JOB DESCRIPTION

ABOUT THIS POSITION - The Town of Basalt is accepting applications for a Planner I or a Planner II position (DOQ). This position is an important part of the Town's planning and development services team and performs various professional and technical level planning work on challenging, complex, and/or sensitive planning projects in support of the Town's Master Plan and administration of the Town's zoning and subdivision regulations under the supervision of the Planning Director. The successful candidate possesses a team-oriented, collaborative, and organized working style, with excellent communication skills, the ability to maintain positive relationships, and responsiveness to the community.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - Planner I - Master's degree in urban or regional planning, landscape architecture, public administration, or a closely related field; or a bachelor's degree in one of these fields and a minimum of one (1) years of related planning experience, preferably in a municipal planning department. AICP certification is desirable but not required. Valid Colorado driver's license required.

Planner II - Master's degree in urban or regional planning, landscape architecture, public administration, or a closely related field; or a bachelor's degree in one of these fields and a minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible professional planning experience, preferably in a municipal planning department. AICP certification is desirable but not required. Valid Colorado driver’s license required.
