Solar Energy

The town's zoning ordinance allows accessory use solar energy systems but restricts their placement. It prohibits solar panels exceeding 2 square feet in area from front yard placement, on building faces unless integrated with construction, or in view of streets unless panels are roof-mounted. Ground-mounted panels are restricted to side or rear yard placement and 8' in height, and must be fully screened. Roof-mounted panels may include integrated or flush-mounted panels, which may not project vertically above roof peaks or more than 5' above a flat roof surface (§6.4.6).
