The county's zoning code allows beekeeping on any lot for which a single-family residence is a permitted use (§110-88). District setbacks must be met and on-premises honey sales are allowed. Complaints must be resolved by the beekeeper within 30 days.

The county's zoning code also allows 6 chickens to be kept per principal dwelling unit; on lots larger than 1 acre in most zoning districts, 3 additional chickens per additional acre are permitted, up to a maximum of 12 chickens (§110-89.5). Roosters are prohibited; standards address containment area locations, setbacks, and sizes.
