Professional Biography

John Kain, AICP, Principal at Urban Crossroads Inc, has worked professionally in transportation planning and traffic engineering since 1975. His broad range of experience stretches through the spectrum of transportation domains. These include plans for new communities, General Plan circulation elements, management of the development and application of traffic models and GIS databases, traffic impact analyses for numerous types of land uses, funding program technical support and coordination, transit-oriented community designs, non-motorized transportation plans, parking studies, and alternative intersection treatments such as roundabout designs. He guides his company’s activities related to sustainability and “complete streets” transportation systems and standards.
