FAICP Statement

David Fields, FAICP has a simple mission as a planner: create places his grandparents could live by providing streets for everyone. He’s followed this mission for more than 25 years, working across nine countries and four continents, for both the private and public sector. David helped stitch back together Cleveland’s Public Square by recognizing when a street was better suited for people than cars, led key components of the APA-award winning moveDC long range transportation plan for Washington DC, and is now leading the City of Houston’s efforts to stop fatalities and serious injuries on its roadways.

David Fields believes a great community provides transportation choice. With over 25 years of transportation planning experience, David’s work focuses on transportation planning that supports communities’ long-term goals, including multiple modes (heavy rail, light rail, and on-street bus services); parking and park-and-ride facilities; policy (transit-oriented development, Parking Management, and Transportation Demand Management); and community involvement.
