The Town of Los Gatos is seeking proposals from qualified firms, consultants, or consultant teams with specific experience in General Plan updates, associated public engagement, and Environmental Impact Reports (EIR). The selected consultant will work in conjunction with the Town to update the General Plan and prepare the required EIR. Proposals should include all information in this Request for Proposals (RFP), attached, demonstrating experience with General Plan updates, public engagement, and EIRs.

The Town Council has indicated that the current General Plan is serving the community well, and an update is desired to provide the opportunity to refine the Plan, address emerging trends and recent State laws, consider new issues, and remove completed implementation measures. This effort is intended to be a fine-tuning of the existing General Plan rather than a comprehensive overhaul of the document.

The General Plan Update is projected to begin in June 2018 and be completed by April 2020. Some of the specific tasks and studies required to assist with the update of the General Plan are described in the attached materials. The consultant is expected to facilitate at least five community workshops, visioning exercises (such as mind maps or future searches), and/or other engagement activities.
