The Request For Qualifications guidelines may be obtained from the offices of Lee Hammock, Purchasing Agent, 13000 William Dodson Parkway, Farmers Branch, Texas, 75234 or an email request for the documents can be sent to Lee Hammock at "lee.hammock@farmersbranchtx.gov". The Request for Qualifications documents will be mailed upon request; however, the City is not responsible to ensure timely delivery of mailed Request for Qualifications documents.

The City of Farmers Branch invites the submittal of responses to these RFQ from qualified firms interested in providing professional services to conduct a feasibility study of at-grade crossings along a portion of Midway Road and demonstrate the capability to design additional pedestrian crossings at both controlled and uncontrolled roadways in accordance with the Trail Master Plan. In 2017 Farmers Branch residents passed a bond to implement the Trail Master Plan and study pedestrian crossing of Midway Road.

The City will give prime consideration to firms with significant experience in assessing intersections and surrounding land use to determine the location for pedestrian crossings at major urban thoroughfares. The City will also give prime consideration to firms with significant experience in designing safe pedestrian crossings in urban areas. The general requirements are:

  • Have a professional engineer on staff
  • Have a traffic engineer on staff
  • Knowledge of Active Transportation Planning and Design guidelines including but not limited to applicable AASHTO, NACTO, FHWA, ITE, CNU and Texas MUTCD.
