Park and Ride Study

Community Planning Association of Southwest Idaho (COMPASS)

Meridian, ID

The purpose of the park and ride study is to better support the use of non-single occupancy vehicle options by properly locating different types of future park and ride facilities throughout the region and to maximize the use of transportation dollars.

The study results will be incorporated into the next regional long-range transportation plan, Communities in Motion 2050, as well as the Ada County Highway District (ACHD) Strategic Plan, and will help the Treasure Valley achieve a regional connected rideshare network.

COMPASS recently began work to update its regional long-range transportation plan, Communities in Motion 2050. The development of this plan will include a comparison of various transportation and land use scenarios and their societal impacts, such as mobility, livability, economic vitality, and affordability.

The plan will include a robust public transportation network for 2050 considering all aspects of public transportation such as high capacity transit corridors, first and last mile, complete streets, and more. This study will feed into many parts of the Communities in Motion 2050 plan.

Interested firms must demonstrate knowledge and experience in park and ride planning, as well as familiarity with regional long-range transportation planning.  The complete RFP document is available on the COMPASS website.
