The HMNA will serve as a case for action/change and will be used to trigger and guide community discussions on housing strategies that meet the needs of residents now, and into the future. Deliverables contained in the report will range from brutal facts to best practice solutions that may influence the future planning necessary to reach consensus on a holistic housing strategy that is no longer siloed and helps to address the social determinants of health.

Further, the HMNA will assist the RHDC in meeting is strategic priorities of:

• Improve access to capital that aids in the preservation and development of accessible affordable housing
• Drive a concise and aligned regional housing policy and practice
• Foster an understanding of affordable housing and its benefits
