Project Title: Climate Action Plan – Deer Valley Resort

Submission Instructions:

• Proposals must be presented as a single, combined file that contains all proposal materials and supporting documentation. The use of pdf format is encouraged.
• Proposals must be submitted no later than September 28, 2023. Late proposals will not be accepted.

Proposal Instructions:

Deer Valley Resort is requesting proposals from qualified consulting agencies to develop a Climate Action Plan for the resort. The purpose of this plan is to identify areas of focus and action items to help the resort meet Alterra's 2030 commitments (Social Responsibility | Alterra Mountain Company) (alterramtn.co) for protecting the planet and align with Alterra's Forward Stance Pledge (Forward Stance 2022 Annual Impact Report by alterramtnco - Issuu).

Parties interested in being considered for a contract with Deer Valley Resort should submit a proposal with the following information:

• Overview of scope of services
• A project team overview, including proposed subconsultants
• The project team's experience developing Climate Action Plans and key results that have been achieved by clients as a result of the Climate Action Plans
• An estimated schedule to complete the project with key milestones
• Cost (fixed price and breakdown of individual project costs)

Background:

Scope of Work:

Deer Valley is seeking a consultant or team of consultants & sub-contractors to develop a Climate Action Plan for the resort that exemplifies the Deer Valley Difference. This plan should be designed to help Deer Valley be recognized as a leader in the industry and among fellow Alterra Resorts and outline key capital investment projects to help bring the resort to the forefront.

Climate Action Plan Project:

This plan should consider the work that Deer Valley Resort is already doing on the Climate Action front and include the following objectives:

1. Alignment with Alterra's Carbon Emissions and Sustainability Goals
2. Consideration of Park City Municipal's 2030 commitments
3. Capital project priority list
4. Inclusion of Forward Stance Pledge, where applicable
5. Stakeholder engagement and communication
6. Approach and methodology
7. Recommendations for procurement/scope 3 emissions reductions

Pricing and Timeline:

Deer Valley Resort is seeking a consultant to begin work in November 2023 and complete work by July 31, 2024. The proposal should include a timeline and key milestones for how the consultant will complete the Climate Action Plan within this timeframe. Additionally, the proposal should include pricing for work, not to exceed $90,000. If possible, the proposal should include estimated costs per month for the project and the project should be structured to bill monthly.

Schedule:

Interviews: Deer Valley Resort may determine that an interview with one or more Consultants may be necessary. The number of Consultants to participate in interviews, if any, will be determined by Deer Valley Resort, at its sole discretion.

Notification: Deer Valley Resort will notify appropriate firms of changes in the RFP and Notice of Selection.

Addenda: In the event it becomes necessary to revise any part of the RFP, addenda will be provided to all firms still under consideration at the time the addendum is issued.

Selection Criteria:

Deer Valley Resort will consider only complete proposals received from verified bodies. Submissions will be evaluated by Deer Valley Resort based on factors including but not limited to the qualifications, proposed cost, approach to work, schedule, and completeness.

Preference will be given to Consultants who embrace an active approach towards achieving diversity, equity and inclusion throughout their business practices. Demonstration of this can be included in the proposal and will be taken with the highest regard.

Clear and Concise Submittal. Consultants are discouraged from submitting lengthy Submittals. Alterra Mountain Company requests that Submittals be concise and clearly written containing only essential information.

Costs by Consultants. All costs incurred in the preparation of a Submittal and participation in this RFP and negotiation process shall be borne by the proposing firms.

Completing Selection:

Deer Valley Resort expects to make its final selection no later than Wednesday, October 18, 2023. The chosen consultant will be notified by telephone and/or e-mail. All other applicants will be notified by email and may contact the company for feedback regarding the final decision
