The Village of Woodridge (population 34,027 per 2022 ACS 5-year estimates) is a developed community located in DuPage, Will, and Cook Counties, Illinois approximately 30 miles southwest of Chicago. Neighboring communities include Naperville, Downers Grove, Darien, Lisle, Lemont, Romeoville, and Bolingbrook. The Village was incorporated August 24, 1959 with the community experiencing the majority of its growth in the early 80's to mid 90s.

The last Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 2007 and focused on a variety of issues including housing, land use, and transportation. The plan was amended in 2008, 2011, 2012, 2014, and 2015. Recently, the Village adopted a new Zoning Ordinance on March 7, 2024 which sought to modernize zoning regulations. The focus is now on key areas within our community that need to be updated based on market trends and future needs of the community.

Project Goals:

• Set a shared vision in the community for reinvestment in key sites to attract quality developers and set expectations for redevelopment.
• Support future land use recommendation based on future market trends and needs of the community.
• Establish a framework for branding and place making in key corridors so that it is clear when someone is in Woodridge.

The Village is looking to complete the Comprehensive Plan within the next 12 months.
