Currently there is limited signage and an incomplete passageway from the Wheeling Creek Trail to the Wheeling Heritage Trail. This project seeks to hire a professional consultant to create a plan to connect the two trails through downtown Wheeling.

The Wheeling Heritage Trail Connector would fix a gap in two existing trail systems in Wheeling. The two trail systems originally had a connecting route through the downtown Wheeling city streets. The current route is unclear and unsafe. This project would provide a clear plan for safe passage for cyclists. It is possible that a consultant might provide a route that would accommodate walkers and runners.
