The City of Leawood, Kansas is requesting proposals from qualified consultants to provide professional planning consulting services for a complete update to the City of Leawood Comprehensive Plan followed by a complete update to and recodification of the Leawood Development Ordinance (LDO), with recommendations and strategies to guide development and growth over the next 25-year planning period. Updates to the two documents are being bid as one project in order to ensure consistency and continuity, and to enable efficiency throughout the entire process.
Leawood is located in northeast Johnson County, approximately 10 miles southwest of downtown Kansas City, Missouri. Leawood is a city of the first class with 33,902 residents (2020 census). The City's socio-economic profile is characterized by historically high levels of population growth, educational attainment, and home values. Leawood has been widely recognized as a desirable community to live, work, and play.
