The Principal Planner supervises development review activities and zoning administration staff and functions and performs advanced and high level current planning activities. This senior-level professional and technical planning position provides staff support to the Planning Manager, Director of Community Development, City Manager’s Office, City Council, and the various Community Development Boards and Commissions.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in Planning, Urban Design, or related field from an accredited college or university and five years of experience in planning, or Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Urban Design, or related field from an accredited college or university with eight years of planning experience. Two years of supervisory or lead work experience. An equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. Must possess a valid driver’s license. AICP preferred.
