The Zoning Division is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Chief Planner. This position is a supervisory position and will be over the Arborist Section. The position works closely with the Zoning Manager, Assistant Manager and other Chief Planners in forwarding the ideals and goals of the Zoning Diving and Orange County.

The Arbor Section of the Zoning Division consists of staff responsible for reviewing land development applications for compliance with Orange County regulations for landscaping, buffering, open space and tree protection and removal. The Arborist team facilitates regulatory programs, conducts inspections, issues violations, and provides citizen engagement through the permitting process.

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree and five years of experience in a planning-related area to include one year of supervisory experience; or a Bachelor's degree and eight years of experience in a planning related area to include one year of supervisory experience, Or an equivalent combination of relevant education or experience on a year for year basis.

Preferences: Degree preference in Arboriculture, Forestry, Landscape Architecture or a closely related field.
