Performs complex professional and administrative tasks planning, directing, coordinating, and supervising planning programs, services, staff, and functions, administering current and long-term planning workflow including permit review, project tracking, and customer feedback, responding to land use inquiries, preparing and updating Town ordinances, preparing and administering the Division and Capital Improvement budgets, and related work as apparent or assigned. 

This position supports supervisors and other staff within the Planning Department and maintains overall responsibility for all Planning staff. This position is designated as essential during emergency or disaster situations. Work involves setting policies and goals with general direction from the Planning & Inspections Director.
