Fauquier County is currently seeking an experienced planner with a focus on site plan and plat review, coordination, and approval. This position within the Zoning and Development Services Division of the Department of Community Development functions as a Site Plan coordinator for business development projects in the County, proactively managing review and approval of business-related site plans and plats. The position also has key role in coordinating economic development projects for site plans cases; conducts zoning reviews for a broad range of development applications, including rezonings, special exceptions, special permits, development plans and subdivision plans; and provides information on zoning requirements to the public, other staff, design professionals and elected officials.

The successful applicant must be experienced in

• land development case coordination,
• reading and reviewing site plans and plats,
• understanding and applying zoning regulations,
• writing and presenting comments, and
• with technical staff reports.

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's degree in planning, landscape architecture, or a related field, at least three (3) years experience including land development review, and excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience in both the public and private sector is preferred.

Salary range is $57,378 to $80,329 with salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
