Salt Lake County is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as its next Director of Regional Development, a cabinet-level position with broad authority over strategic initiatives that shape the future of the region.

This role oversees a multidisciplinary portfolio, including Regional Planning & Transportation, Economic Development, Housing & Community Development, Environmental Services, and Canyon Management. Reporting directly to the Mayor's Executive Cabinet, the Director will lead a high-performing team and drive major policy and investment strategies across one of the nation's most dynamic and fast-growing counties.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• A strategic, long-range planning mindset with the ability to navigate political nuance.
• Strong leadership and operational management experience in public policy, urban planning, economic development, or a related field.
• Proven ability to build coalitions, influence intergovernmental partnerships, and guide complex, cross-sector initiatives.
• A deep commitment to public service and equity-driven development.
