JOB DESCRIPTION

As Central Ohio's regional council, MORPC is an association of cities, villages, townships, counties, and regional organizations, serving rural, suburban, and urban areas.

Examples of Duties:

The Active Transportation and Safety Program Manager is responsible for managing core planning activities as assigned, including a wide variety of technical analysis, coordination, and reporting related to active transportation and transportation safety. Primary responsibilities of the position include delivering tools, resources, and technical assistance to member communities to support their transportation planning and projects specifically related to pedestrian, bicycle, trail, and safety planning; coordination with MORPC team members and external partners including ODOT, ODPS, FHWA, and other key federal, state, and local stakeholders. The Active Transportation and Safety Program Manager works independently or as part of a team and supervises other full-time staff and interns. The position is supervised by the Associate Director or Director.

Typical Qualifications-Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Thorough knowledge of the principles, best practices, and techniques of transportation planning and engineering, particularly related to active transportation and
• Demonstrated understanding of the tools and resources available for active transportation and safety planning
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods, strong statistical and analytical skills, and an understanding of various data collection and visualization.
