Hiring range: $113,300- $141,625. The max salary for this position is $169,950. An offer may be made above the hiring range based on a candidate's qualifications.

The main focus of the Deputy Director of Community Development is to lead land use file processes and supervise, coordinate, and direct the staff planners within the Community Development Department. The Deputy Director also performs complex planning work, provides supervision to other planners and assists the Community Development Director in providing staff support to the Board of County Commissioners, the Planning Commission, and other boards as assigned.

Qualifications
Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification, or Registration:
- Seven (7) or more years of progressively-responsible experience implementing and enforcing land use regulations, administering current- and long-range land use plans; or, any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and ability.
- Four (4) or more years of supervisory experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Urban/Regional Planning or a related field or study from an accredited college or university. Or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which produces the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Masters degree in Urban/Regional Planning or a related field from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Valid state driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
- American Institute of Certified Planner (AICP) Certification desirable.
