JOB DESCRIPTION

Ogden City is seeking a Planner I to join our Planning Division. This position performs professional land use planning and development review work, provides information to the public and development community, and supports the Planning Commission, Landmarks Commission, and other boards.

Responsibilities

  • Review development plans for zoning compliance
  • Prepare reports, maps, and presentations for public meetings
  • Assist the public, developers, and professionals with planning standards
  • Research land use issues and draft ordinances
  • Inspect properties for zoning compliance
  • Support General Plan updates, community plans, and related projects

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, Landscape Architecture, or related field (or equivalent combination of education/experience)
  • Valid Utah driver's license (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
  • Must complete NIMS IS100, IS200, IS700, and IS800 within 3 months of hire
  • Subject to background check and motor vehicle record review

BENEFITS

Salary: $62,807 – $91,070 annually ($30.20 – $43.78 hourly, DOE) plus benefits.
