JOB DESCRIPTION

The Village of Oswego offers an excellent educational opportunity for an aspiring Planner as a seasonal Planning Intern. This position will have responsibility for assisting the Development Services Department by aiding staff in collecting and preparing data for various planning projects, conducting occasional fieldwork, preparing planning reports, attending community meetings (some of which occur after normal working hours) and conducting basic office functions as needed. The Planning Intern is a summer, temporary position working an average of 40 hours per week.

A successful candidate will have knowledge of planning concepts, strong research and analytical skills and effective written and oral communication skills.

A candidate for this internship must be enrolled in a college or university, or a recent graduate seeking additional work-related experience. Planning or similar course of study preferred. This is a temporary position to begin in May and end August. Internship offer is contingent upon a candidate's successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment medical exam and drug screen. A valid driver's license is required.
