JOB DESCRIPTION

The City of Oconomowoc is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated full-time Planner to join our Planning Department. This vital role supports the City's planning and zoning efforts by reviewing development applications, enforcing ordinances, and assisting with long-range planning and creative initiatives. Requires a master's in urban planning with 2+ years of experience, or a Bachelor's in a related field with 4+ years, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Oconomowoc is centrally located between Milwaukee and Madison, with a good mix of country, lakes, beaches, a vibrant downtown, and a great sense of community. Compensation: $38.78 – $49.86 per hour, based on experience.

Position Summary:

Under the general direction of the City Planner / Zoning Administrator, this position supports the City's planning and zoning functions by conducting land use studies, preparing reports, reviewing development applications, and enforcing zoning ordinances. The role also provides technical support to boards and commissions, assists with updates to planning documents and maps, and contributes to the implementation of the City's Comprehensive Plan and land use policies. As workload permits, the position also assists with graphic design and creative projects for City-wide initiatives.

BENEFITS

Pay: $32.72 – $42.07/hr, based on exp, plus competitive benefits including WI Retirement System enrollment & ETF health ins.
