JOB DESCRIPTION

The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government is seeking an experienced professional to serve as Affordable Housing Manager, a key role focused on housing finance, policy, and program management. This position works at the intersection of public policy and real estate development to help guide the city's investments in affordable housing. The role focuses on financial analysis, program oversight, and strategic planning rather than direct social services.

The Affordable Housing Manager evaluates funding applications from housing developers and nonprofit partners, analyzes project feasibility and financing structures, and makes recommendations regarding public investment in housing developments. The position also prepares reports and presentations for the Affordable Housing Board, city leadership, and the community while helping shape housing strategy through market research and policy analysis.

In addition, the manager oversees the implementation of funded projects to ensure compliance with program guidelines and federal, state, and local regulations. Responsibilities also include monitoring project performance, processing funding draws, servicing loans, and tracking the use of housing funds.

This position works closely with developers, nonprofit housing organizations, and community stakeholders to support the development and preservation of affordable housing in Lexington. The ideal candidate will bring experience in housing development, real estate, finance, planning, or community development and will be comfortable evaluating complex projects, coordinating with multiple partners, and helping guide the city's housing investments.
