JOB DESCRIPTION

The City of Temecula is hiring a full-time benefited Associate Planner I in the Community Development Department.

The ideal candidate for the Associate Planner (long range planning and current planning hybrid) position is a motivated self-starter, a detail-oriented professional with understanding of long range (advanced) planning principles and current planning project management experience. This individual should be a competent and experienced project manager able to balance competing priorities and shifting deadlines. They should be comfortable analyzing housing laws and other legislation while working collaboratively across departments. This individual should have experience with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).

This position is a hybrid position that will serve long range and current planning, including working the public counter on a rotating schedule with other staff and answering phone calls from the public. Our team works in a fast-paced environment and organization, to support our community. The Associate Planner will bring strong analytical and communication skills to a collaborative team of dedicated professionals committed to ensuring Temecula’s bright future.

This position may be filled as an Assistant Planner or Associate Planner I based upon the candidate’s education and experience.

Salary Range:

Assistant Planner: $37.51 - $48.03 Hourly

Associate Planner I: $43.51 - $55.69 Hourly
