JOB DESCRIPTION

The Transportation Planner III will work closely with the residents of Fort Lauderdale to create a safe, multimodal transportation network by facilitating conversations on needs, potential solutions, development of work programs, and funding advocacy.

This position will work with the many stakeholders both internal and external to accomplish the city's vision of having a Connected Community Where the Pedestrian is First. This will include listening and advocating regularly on transportation items that impact the City. The position will conduct studies, manage consultants completing work, develop grant applications, and frequently attend and lead meetings with the public.

The key work program for this position over the next several years will be the management of the City's Vision Zero Plan update being conducted through a SS4A Grant and the development of the Sidewalks Master Plan work program.
