Zoning Supervisor
HIRING RANGE: $7,891 - $8,883 monthly.
About the Position:
The Zoning Supervisor performs advanced professional duties in developing, implementing, and modifying City plans and regulations. Reporting to the Community Development Director, this role supervises staff responsible for planning and permitting services, provides coordination and management for major planning efforts. Responsibilities include developing and modifying, plans and policies, conducting complex planning reviews, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing customer service related to administering current planning and permitting programs
What You'll Do:
- Author and/or modify City policies and plans related to growth and development.
- Perform complex planning and development review of subdivisions, site plans, re-zoning, annexations, code amendments, and other permits or processes to ensure compliance with all requirements.
- Provide recommendations on development proposals.
- Exercise direct supervision over professionals and para-professionals responsible for providing planning and permitting services.
- Recommend, implement and administer ordinances.
- Provide information and assistance to City staff, the public, and developers regarding City plans, zoning matters and development requirements.
- Conduct meetings with engineers, developers, architects, public and City staff regarding the development process and requirements.
- Collaborate with internal and external agencies on development-related issues.

What We're Looking For:
- Four (4) years of increasingly responsible urban planning and development experience.
- One year of supervisory experience.
- Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in planning or related field.
- Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Colorado driver's license.
- Possession of an American Institute of Certified Planners certification (AICP).
