JOB DESCRIPTION

The City of Miamisburg is accepting resumes for the position of City Planner who reports directly to the Development Director and performs a variety of routine as well as complex administrative, technical, and professional work. The City Planner is a full-time, on-site role located in Miamisburg, OH, focused on managing urban planning and development projects. Key responsibilities include developing and reviewing zoning regulations, evaluating land use proposals, conducting impactful community engagement, and preparing comprehensive planning reports for Board of Zoning Appeals, Planning Commission, and City Council review.

This role involves collaboration with city officials, residents, various boards and commissions, and stakeholders to ensure sustainable development and compliance with city plans and policies. The City Planner will also analyze socio-economic data to guide future growth and participate in strategic decision-making processes. Other duties may include GIS mapping and analysis, targeted code enforcement, site development inspections, floodplain administration, and grant writing.

BENEFITS

The 2026 annual salary range for this position is $80,391.12 to $102,860.54, commiserate with experience, education, and qualifications with one of the best benefit packages in the region including health, dental, vision, employee assistance program (EAP), OPERS contributions, and paid leave (sick and vacation).
