We are excited to be growing our Denver planning and design team and are seeking an experienced Urban Planner and Designer to join our team of planners, urban designers and landscape designers in our Denver office. This is a junior- to mid-level, production-based position with commensurate experience requirements and pay range.

MIG supports a hybrid work-from-home/remote and in-office schedule but requires 2-3 days of in-person work each week for learning and team-building opportunities.

Responsibilities - What You’ll Be Doing at MIG

Collaborative Teammate: You will work as part of a cross-office, cross-discipline team that plans and designs with communities of all sizes across the United States for public and private-sector clients.

Project Work: You will support a team of planners, designers, and project managers in all aspects of project design and implementation, including community meeting design, preparation and facilitation, research and analysis, technical and policy writing, creation of highly visual, graphic rendering materials, reports, and/or summaries, meeting support and logistics, content analysis, project administration and client interaction.

Project Types: The projects you will typically work on will include writing for comprehensive, downtown, corridor, strategic, and/or specific and current plans, parks and recreation system plans, and public engagement support, including designing and planning with online tools.

MIG works on projects nationwide; some travel, evening, and weekend work will be required for community engagement, site evaluations, or to meet deadlines. MIG encourages a sustainable and healthy work-life balance, and these excess hours can be offset during the week when possible.

To accomplish these responsibilities, you will be able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, think critically and creatively, work as part of a collaborative team in an open environment, and maintain a sense of humor and camaraderie. In addition, you are expected to have some combination of the following qualifications:

• Ability to produce high-quality work products, including but not limited to graphics, charts, meetings, or research summaries; planning document and poster board layouts; and mapping.

Excellent skills in writing, analysis, graphic design, document presentation and written and verbal communication. Additional skills in 3D visualizations; illustrative plans, photo simulations are a plus.

You have knowledge and demonstrated interest in the intersection of design and planning and an ability to develop collaborative, productive, and respectful relationships with community members, organizations, and partners.
