Economic & Planning Systems, Inc. (EPS) is an innovative land economics consulting firm working in land use and urban planning, housing policy, economic and community development, real estate advisory, and public finance. Senior Consultant Position

We are looking for an experienced consultant to manage and lead complex consulting projects, marketing and proposal efforts, and to support management and strategic direction of the office and firm. Senior Consultants collaborate with EPS Principals, staff, and partner firms to complete consulting assignments related to urban issues such as affordable housing, equitable urban investment, real estate market and feasibility studies, transit-oriented development, economic development, fiscal and economic impacts, and open space and conservation economics. Senior Consultants work as a project managers and analysts and are directly engaged in directing and completing project research, data analysis, analytical interpretation, and reports and presentations. People in these positions also contribute to and lead marketing and competitive proposal efforts to generate business for the firm. Candidates for these positions need to be able to conceive project direction and strategy, develop scopes of work, and successfully complete projects in our practice areas independently with strategic direction and oversight from Principal consultants.

We have a hybrid work environment with flexible hours, with a focus on in-office collaboration. We require three days per week in the office and allow two days of work from home per week, with other allowances for periodic remote work away from the home/office region.

Qualifications and Skills

• Master’s degree in urban and regional planning, urban economics, real estate, public policy, or related field preferred. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree and additional directly related work experience will also be considered.
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years (or more) of directly related experience in land economics and/or real estate consulting
• Strong problem solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
• Proven expertise and experience consulting in several of EPS’ practice areas (see www.epsys.com for more information)
• Exceptional written and oral communication and presentation skills
• Ability to lead and facilitate meetings and discussions with clients, partner firms, elected officials, and stakeholder groups
• Experience writing proposals and participating in or leading interviews for competitive work
• Strong spreadsheet modeling and data analysis skills 
• Expertise in real estate market and financial analysis including pro forma cash flow analysis, bond and loan analysis, and market research.
• GIS/spatial analysis and graphics skills are a plus
• Data management, analysis, and visualization skills are a plus

Benefits

• Salary range $90,000 to $112,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Candidates exceeding the qualifications listed above may also be considered.
