The town's land use ordinance exempts rooftop solar collectors from land-use permit requirements and allows variances for renewable energy systems. It exempts rooftop solar power collectors less than 10' high from land use permit requirements (§104.b.12) as well as from height restrictions (§325.a). The land use ordinance also allows the Development Review Board to grant hardship variances for renewable energy resource structures (§1011.f).
