Solar Energy

The township's land development regulations apply solar orientation and special solar setback standards to protect solar access in mid-rise and high-rise developments in mixed use areas. It requires that building placement provide maximum solar access to adjoining residential property, building lengthwise axis be oriented to maximize solar gain, and appropriate setbacks be determined to prevent obstruction of solar access to neighboring sites (§6.04.A.4).
