The county's land development code permits roof- and ground-mounted solar energy systems in all districts, subject to standards. Standards address location, height above roof, setbacks, screening of components, and appropriate colors (§151-6.3G). Panels may project into rear setbacks by up to 10 feet and side setbacks by up to 3 feet, but must be at least 3 feet from property lines (§151-7.2E.1.l). The land development code encourages renewable energy sources (§151-11.3).
