The town's code offers flexibility in landscaping standards to maintain solar access to lots. The bufferyard provisions addressing plant material allow that, in the case of solar access restriction, required canopy trees may be replaced by understory trees to prevent future shading of adjacent protected lots (App. II, §2.B).
