Solar Energy

The city's comprehensive plan includes several goals and policies that promote solar energy use. In the Urban Design Element, it calls for site planning that maximizes solar orientation and efficiency (Goal 2, Policy 1). In the Environmental Planning Element, it calls for exploring alternate energy sources and developing an Alternative Energy Incentives Program (Goal 1, Policy 1). The comprehensive plan also mentions attracting solar generating industries and manufacturing (Policy 4, Policy 5).
