solar energy
The city's unified development code describes where solar panels may be installed on structures within historic districts. Solar panel installations within historic districts require a historic district permit, but permits shall not be denied if systems are 10' or more behind the structure's front wall, 12" or more below the ridgeline of the structure, or less than 8" above the roof surface (§58-84(a)h).
Green Stormwater Infrastructure
This city's unified development code includes a section that lists green infastructure options to meet stormwater management standards (§58-271). The code requires new development and some types of redevelopment to utilize green infrastructure solutions in order to manage stormwater runoff on site. This section also references an ordinance describing the use of green infrastructure credit to meet flood protection requirements.
