Solar Energy

The town's comprehensive plan includes a discussion of solar energy and several goals and implementation recommendations related to encouraging solar energy use. The Energy chapter includes a discussion of solar energy and sets goals of protecting, promoting, and encouraging the use of the town's renewable energy resources (pp. 267-268). Implementation recommendations related to encouraging solar energy use include encouraging the use of energy conservation measures through site plan review by protecting solar access for existing buildings and by encouraging the organization of a cooperative to purchase devices such as solar water heating systems (pp. 271-274).
