Solar Energy

The land use chapter of the township's code permits accessory rooftop solar energy systems in all districts by right, subject to placement standards (Sec. 170-118.1.D.3). Freestanding solar energy systems are permitted by right in higher-intensity residential districts and all nonresidential districts, subject to standards addressing screening, lot coverage, and ground cover (Sec. 170-118.1.D.4). All solar energy systems are subject to standards addressing maintenance (Sec. 170-118.1.E) and abandonment (Sec. 170-118.1.F).
