The village's zoning code includes a section on solar energy conversion systems (Sec. 1173.22). It defines this term and permits SECS in all districts as accessory uses with a zoning certificate subject to standards. Standards for ground-mounted systems address location, screening, and yard and height compliance. Standards for roof-mounted systems prohibit systems from extending beyond the edge of the roof. The code does not prohibit system owners from obtaining solar access easements.
